“These spots are far enough out to be properly quiet, and in the green season you would not believe they are thirty km from Bhopal. From below the hill looks impossible, and halfway up you are certain you cannot finish — then somebody in the group pushes you on. At the top the wind is in your face, the sun is right there with nothing in between, and everything below is tiny. Even a plain chai tastes like something else up there.”
